Sara and Eric’s Intimate Santa Barbara Courthouse Elopement
Sara and Eric’s elopement at the Santa Barbara Courthouse was one of those days that reminded us why we love photographing intimate celebrations. It was relaxed, full of emotion, and centered around the people who matter most. The ceremony took place inside the iconic Mural Room, surrounded by warm light and the most beautiful historic details. Their daughter Annabelle led the way down the aisle, and the joy on everyone’s faces said it all. After the ceremony, they shared the sweetest hugs as a family, and I felt so lucky to capture those first few moments as husband and wife.
Creative Couple Portraits at Hotel Californian
After the ceremony, we headed to Hotel Californian for portraits, and the energy completely shifted into celebration. We popped champagne, played with direct flash, and shot lots of film to give the images a timeless editorial vibe. One of our favorite photos from the day is their reflection in a wall of mirrors, champagne bottle in hand. It perfectly captures their fun and carefree personalities!
We always love when couples trust us to get creative, and Sara and Eric were totally up for it. Between the architecture, the neutral tones, and the glowing afternoon light, the entire shoot felt effortlessly chic.
A Family Dinner at Blackbird Restaurant
To end the night, everyone gathered for dinner at Blackbird inside Hotel Californian. The table was designed by Sara’s mom, which made the setting even more special. She filled it with tall candles, white roses, oysters, and wine. It created a luxurious yet cozy atmosphere that perfectly fit the day. The florals by Coco Rose Design tied everything together beautifully!
The whole evening felt like a celebration of love and family, not just a wedding day. It was classic, intentional, and so full of warmth. Every detail reflected who Sara and Eric are together, and we left feeling inspired by how simple and special an elopement can be when it’s done from the heart.
